The Who, What and Why
Who?
The HCCL group consists of four members. Hannes, Constantin, Christian and Leon. Under time pressure we quickly chose our starting letters for the group name. We all study "business information technology" (Wirtschaftsinformatik) in our 5th semester at the CAU Kiel in Northern Germany. The Data Science Project is part of our studies for our bachelor's degree.
What?
In the time span of four weeks, we had to collect our data, process and analyze it, and in the end present our findings in form a presentation, a poster and this website.
Why music?
Music is a very important part of most peoples lifes. Nowadays you can listen to music anywhere at any time. With the rise of streaming services, many people have got their personal music collection in their pocket. As part of a generation, which grew into this mass availability of music, we wondered, how did the popular music itself change? One influence is the type of media, like vinyl, cassette tape, cd and more, that were available to the time, but there are surely more aspects. We decided not to investigate these aspects, but rather analyse the music itself, and possibly draw conclusions to the aspects and influences.
